Electrical & Control Systems Design Engineer - NL

Job Purpose

Prepare DSEAR and ATEX compliant Low-Voltage electrical designs and sub-contract technical packages for the design, construction, and commissioning phases of capital projects at A-Gas UK/EU sites.

Program, configure, and commission process control systems using Rockwell Automation’s IDE software and Inductive Automation’s Ignition SCADA platform. Verify and validate process control systems throughout the phases of capital projects at A-Gas UK/EU sites.

Provide electrical and controls support, troubleshooting and improvements to Eygelshoven site Operations and Engineering departments.

You will be working as part of a cross-disciplinary EU Engineering Design and Build team located in the UK and NL, supporting local Engineering teams on sites throughout Europe with maintenance of electrical equipment where necessary

Job Duration

The initial offering is a seven months contract with the option of extension. 

Principal Place of Work

NL, Eygelshoven offices, with the flexibility to work from home. Travel to Bristol, UK site will be required with potential travel to other A-Gas sites in Europe.

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications

Essential

• HNC/HND or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in delivering engineering projects.
• Experience in commissioning industrial plants and machinery.
• Understanding of relevant industry regulations and standards.
• Experience in control systems and LV electrical design, construction, and
• commissioning.
• Experience with AutoCAD LT/Electrical or similar.
• Ability to read P&ID drawings.
• PLC programming experience, preferably Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation.
• SCADA system design experience, preferably Ignition.
• Knowledge of the design, configuration, installation, and commissioning of industrial
• IT communication networks for new and current systems.
• Able to coordinate and work effectively with external contractors.
• Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
• Able to anticipate and solve problems related to projects.
• Good attention to detail and excellent communication skills in English.

Desirable

• Experience in the chemical processing plant and pressurized liquefied gas systems.
• Understanding of Functional Safety standards, especially IEC 61511.
  
• Experience in ATEX and DSEAR design and installation.
• Experience in configuring variable speed drives.
• C&G 2079 F-Gas certificate, categories 1 and 2.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• COMPEX certification.
• GIT revision control or similar.
